When you get to your room, you probably will switch on your 32 inch LCD flat screen television. There you will find Tutwiler TV, a channel dedicated to filling you in on all of the special features that The Tutwiler has to offer in a quick five minute format. Flip to channel four and let City Vision help you fill in your personal itinerary. Then nearly 80 channels of cable are at your disposal.

If you have work to do, big desks in each guest room allow you to spread out. Take advantage of our brand new blazing wireless high speed internet. It’s free. You can print your documents from your laptop anywhere in the hotel to the state of the art Executive Center. Consider the Executive Center your own personal work space, with two computers and all your supplies close at hand. It’s free.

There are no lines, no waiting when you need to print out your boarding pass. Print it from your laptop using the Printer On system, or head to the Executive Center, where the Board EZ computer is dedicated to doing nothing but that…printing boarding passes.

Head to the 8th floor and The Tutwiler’s in-house fitness center. There you will find a recumbent bike, treadmill, elliptical and universal machine. Bring your headphones, because each machine is equipped with its very own television unit and FM radio. If you forgot them, you can find them in the Suite Shop in the upper lobby. The Suite Shop offers beverages, frozen treats, convenience meals, other snacks and essential items.

Enjoy world class fare in restaurant icon, the creative new dining venue in The Tutwiler, featuring a breathtaking new look with beautiful windows above a Birmingham streetscape. Enjoy an adult beverage at the chic bar. You can also indulge yourself with in-room dining from icon. You’ll find a room service menu located in the guest directory on your desk. If you are staying in a suite, enjoy the microwave popcorn on your wet bar. Grab a snack out of the 24 hour Suite Shop. If you get a late night hunger pang after room service hours, grab a salad or sandwich from the Butler Pantry selection in the Suite Shop. Just touch the Make it Happen button on your phone and we will bring it to you.

You’ll start your day tomorrow with breakfast and a view. Our hot, On the House Breakfast is complimentary for hotel guests. It is served from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. every day on the 8th floor of the hotel. Converted from former attic space, the beautiful new room gives outstanding views of the city. Or if you prefer a traditional Southern cooked to order breakfast with a modern day twist, head down to icon, where breakfast is served 6 days a week from 6:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. and brunch is available on Sunday starting at 10 a.m. No time for breakfast? Nonsense. Grab an On the Run breakfast bag from the Concierge desk on your way out the door. It’s free!

Got some time on your hands? Check out a current book from the Concierges’ lending library, supplied by the Alabama Booksmith. Peruse the collection at the Front Desk, pick out one you like and the Concierges will help you check it out. Enjoy it while you are at the hotel. If you don’t finish it, take it with you. We supply a pre-addressed mailer. Like it so much that you want to keep it? No problem, we’ll just charge your credit card 30 days after you check out.

Settle in with a great movie. Borrow an American Film Institute top 100 movie from the Concierge desk to watch on your DVD player and 32 inch LCD television. It’s already hooked up to channel 99. One remote makes it simple. You can also kick back and listen to your own tunes on the speaker dock for your MP3 player, next to your DVD player.

Any visit to a city is an opportunity to learn about its history and its people. At The Tutwiler, you don’t even have to leave the building, or even your room for that matter. The room signs are actually iconic historic images of the Magic City. The artwork in the rooms consists of carefully chosen historic photographs from the archives of the Birmingham Public Library. The artwork in the 8th floor breakfast room tells the story of The Tutwiler Hotel Finally, you simply must take in the museum quality audio tour that tells the story of Birmingham through 42 historic photographs on the lobby level.
